Join the Advanced AbD Workshop at Jen Tough Air Studios in Santa Fe!
I am thrilled to announce my return to Jen Tough Air Studios in Santa Fe, where I will be teaching the advanced AbD workshop: Quietly Upscale. This workshop is designed for artists who are ready to take their skills to the next level by applying AbD (Abstraction by Design) techniques on larger, upscale panels.
By carefully selecting and managing the content of our work, we aim to achieve a quiet, less busy design and composition. This method allows for more harmonious and elegant final pieces.
During the Quietly Upscale workshop, participants will explore the possibilities of working on larger panels, allowing for greater expression and creativity. We will delve into the principles of AbD, learning how to effectively employ composition, color , and texture to create our artwork.
With a focus on quiet (less busy) design, this workshop will challenge participants to strike the perfect balance between simplicity and complexity.
Join me at Jen Tough Air Studios and Immerse yourself in a supportive environment where you can connect with fellow artists and broaden your creative horizons.

I am thrilled to announce Paper Trails, an upcoming exhibition at the Village Theatre Gallery that celebrates the art of creating with paper. As curator of this show, it is my honor to bring together an eclectic collection of works that showcase the versatility, beauty, and artistry of paper.
Paper Trails will feature a diverse range of disciplines, including sculpture, books, collage, and mixed media.
I am also excited to contribute my own Surface Tension artworks to the collection. Surface Tension explores the interplay of texture, form, and color that can be achieved through paper manipulation techniques..
As a curator, my goal is to create a space where one can engage with these artworks, appreciating not only the final products but also the processes and techniques behind them.

I am thrilled to be invited back to teach another 3over3 Workshop @ Catalyst Art Lab (CAL). This workshop focuses on creating a 9-panel installation. Bring your design ideas and skill sets but also your stamina as we work on each individual panel as a collective body of work. Federation of Canadian Artists FCA. I am back again teaching the Linear Thinking WS in Calgary Canada. I enjoy teaching this class bc the Linear orientation is like an installation and can be challenging. I look forward to teaching this class and the AbD techniques to these very talented and dedicated FCA artists, and in seeing old friends as well.

PRINCIPLES of ABSTRACTION by DESIGN

SFAG is a wonderful place to teach and learn and create. Located in the high desert of New Mexico, the site is inspirational with beautiful vistas and a quiet desert atmosphere.

In this workshop, we work tirelessly for four days on multiple panels producing diptychs, triptychs or individual panels. It’s your choice! Bring your design skills and creative energy to this workshop.

Join me for a 3 over 3 Abstraction by Design workshop at Catalyst Art Lab in Chicago. Applying the AbD method, we create our artwork on individual panels and then assemble them to fit into a modular matrix of nine panels that work in concert. Be prepared to work double duty; on individual panels and the installation.
