Have you taken an AbD workshop before but haven’t had the opportunity to practice the process? Consider this your invitation to jump back in, refresh your skills, and get back into the rhythm of working with layers. In this mixed-media workshop, we’ll build dynamic, textured surfaces by layering paper and paint and create working surfaces that can be sanded, scraped, peeled, painted, collaged, and reworked again and again. IN STUDIO WORKSHOP IN STUDIO A Tailored 3-day 4-Student Workshop with Shem Step inside the studio and experience Abstraction by Design (AbD) in an intimate, hands-on workshop limited to just four artists. With plenty of one-on-one guidance, you’ll explore materials, color, texture, composition, and design while developing a cohesive body of work. Working between table and wall, you’ll build layered surfaces, step back to assess, and make confident creative decisions along the way. WHAT YOU’LL EXPLORE ●Material selection, composition, design, and balance. ●Color mixing and tinting. Layering, texture, collage, and paint. ●Sanding, scraping, peeling, excavation, glueing, sealing, and clear coating.
