I’m excited to bring Abstraction by Design (AbD) to an art retreat in beautiful Sintra, Portugal, where I’ll be teaching Linear Thinking.

AbD is my mixed-media approach to abstraction, rooted in paper + paint, layering, pressure, friction, erosion and the unexpected. It’s a process of building and removing, where control and surrender work side by side. Linear Thinking takes that process into a series.

Rather than treating each panel as an isolated artwork, we’ll explore how one piece can begin a conversation with the next. Rhythm, balance, color, movement and visual connections develop panel by panel, creating a body of work that works both individually and collectively.

The challenge is simple:   Think in series. Create in flow.

Whether you’re new to AbD or already familiar with my process, this workshop is an opportunity to step outside the single-canvas mindset, experiment with a new way of working, and discover where the process takes you.

And doing it all in Sintra, Portugal?

Join me in Sintra!
